Central Committee: 2011 Service Positions

Central Service will be voting in a new executive on September 7, 2010.

Central Service exists to help our membership provide some important services to the District 1 and 2 AA community. The following are the mandate of the committee:

  • Telephone answering service
  • Listing in the phone directory
  • 12 step meeting lists
  • Phone office
  • Literature
  • Social events
  • Annual Mid-Winter Roundup
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Hospital visitation
  • Website

Come out and support AA. Help make our Service Structure Stronger. Volunteer for a position!

Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend in Truro

The New Freedom Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is hosting a Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend from September 17-19, 2010 at the Best Western Glengarry, 150 Willow St., Truro, Nova Scotia.

2nd Annual Bedford-Sackville AA Day

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

The 2nd Annual Bedford-Sackville AA Day will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Sackville Heights Community Centre, 45 Connolly Road, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

The event will feature meetings, fellowship, jam session, kids activities, snacks, dinner and dance. Cost for registration is only $5. Donations are kindly anticipated and gratefully accepted.

46th Annual Area 82 Assembly Round Up

The 46th Annual Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador Assembly & Round Up banquet will take place October 8, 9 and 10, 2010 at the Citadel Hotel, 1960 Brunswick Street in Halifax.

33rd Annual Mid-Winter Roundup

The 33rd Annual Mid-Winter Roundup, Districts 1 & 2, will take place at the Holiday Inn in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia from March 4-6, 2011.

The theme of the roundup will be “A Design for Living”.

Maritime Convention of Young People in AA

The Maritime Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (MCYPAA) will take place at the Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia on May 20, 21, 22, 2011 (Victoria Day Long Weekend).

The theme of the convention will be “We Are All on the SAme Journey”.

22nd Annual Courage Round Up

The 22nd Annual Courage Round Up will take place August 6, 7 and 8 at the Universalist Unitarian Church, 5500 Inglis Street, in Halifax, Nova Scotia

The theme of this year’s round-up will be “Sobriety in Community”

The Courage Round Up is the only gay and lesbian AA Round Up in Atlantic Canada, and the only one of its kind east of Montreal.

45th Annual Nova Scotia AA Roundup

The 45th Annual Nova Scotia AA Roundup will take place June 11, 12 and 13 at the Westville Civic Center, 2042 Queen Street, in Westville, Nova Scotia.

The theme of this year’s roundup will be ”Back To Basics”.
