Bedford-Sackville AA Day

Come out and support our fellowships during Bedford-Sackville AA Day. And while you’re at it, bring a friend in need of help and direction.

Bedford-Sackville AA Day will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Sackville Heights Community Centre, 45 Connolly Road, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

The event will feature AA and AL-Anon meetings during the day followed by a dinner speaker and a dance.

Cost for registration, dinner and dance is only $5.00 plus a pot luck donation. For advanced registration, please contact Tom D. at (902) 252-5007 or Peter G. at (902) 454-5336. Registration is also available at the door.

Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend in Truro

The New Freedom Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is hosting a Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend from October 30 to November 1, 2009 at the Best Western Glengarry, 150 Willow St., Truro, Nova Scotia.

Workshop Guest Speakers for the weekend include Cass V. from Manchester, New Hampshire and Rich B. from Ocean City, Maryland.

34th Mid-Summer Roundup

The 34th Mid-Summer Roundup for District 6 will take place on July 24, 25 and 26 at the Glengarry Best Western in Truro.

This year’s theme will be “A Common Solution.”

Registration is $20 for AA and Al-Anon members, and $10 for Alateen members. Registration begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 24 and continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday July 25.

A banquet will take place on Saturday night. Tickets for the banquet are $25 and will not sold without registration.

Chris R. from Ingram, Texas will be the banquet speaker. A dance will follow the banquet.

45th Annual Assembly in Sydney

The 45th Annual Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador AA Assembly will take place from Sept. 18-20 at the Days Inn in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The Assembly will be hosted by District 9.

Nova Scotia Roundup in Truro

The 44th Annual Nova Scotia Provincial Roundup will take place on June 19, 20 and 21 at the Glengarry Best Western Convention Center in Truro.

This year’s theme will be “Gratitude in Action.”

For those choosing to preregister, tickets are $15 for AA and Al-Anon members, and $10 for Alateen members. Preregistration cut off: June 1.

Registration at the door is $20 for AA and Al-Anon members, and $10 for Alateen members.

A banquet featuring roast beef will take place on Saturday night. Tickets for the banquet are $25 and will not sold without registration.

Butch M. from Oshawa, Ontario will be the banquet speaker. A dance will follow the banquet.

AA Day in May

The Porters Lake Group, in cooperation with Al-Anon, will be hosting AA Day in May on May 23 at the Porters Lake Community Centre on Old Number 7 Highway.

The event will feature “a day of fellowship, fun with AA and Al-Anon meetings. It will also include a “supper and jam”.

St. Margaret’s Bay Group Anniversary

The 36th Anniversary Celebration of the St. Margaret’s Bay Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Hall.

The celebrations will include cold cuts and salads, an Al-Anon speaker and an AA speaker. Two birthdays will also be celebrated that night: Bruce M. (9 years) and Donnie S. (42 years).

Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend

The New Freedom Group of Alcoholics Anonymous District 6 will be hosting a Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend on April 24, 25 and 26, 2009 at the Best Western Glengarry, 150 Willow St. in Truro, Nov Scotia.

Registration is $60 per person and includes a banquet, continental breakfast on Saturday morning, as well as coffee/tea breaks during the weekend. (Registration without the banquet is $40.00 per person.)

Guest speakers during the weekend study will be Peter M. of Union City, New Jersey and Rich B. of Ocean City, Maryland.
