April retreat in Terence Bay

Seton Spirituality Centre in Terence Bay is offering a weekend retreat focused on the wisdom and peace found in living a 12-step program.

The retreat begins Friday, April 3 at 7 p.m. and runs until Sunday, April 5. The retreat will conclude with a noon luncheon.

The facilitator of the retreat will be Regina McLean, a member of a retreat team that has conducted 12-step weekends twice a year at Bethany, Antigonish for the past 16 years and for the past five years at the Seton Spirituality Centre. She has also conducted 12-step retreats at Mabou, Cape Breton.

Cost for the retreat is $60 for program and meals; $120 with room and board.

Minutes from Central Service – March 2009

The Central Service Committee (CSC) held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Among the topics discussed were weekend phone duties, success of the Mid-Winter Round-up, nomination of a new chair of the Literature Committee, resumption of advertising in the Chronicle-Herald and the 2009 Central Service budget.

Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend

The New Freedom Group of Alcoholics Anonymous District 6 will be hosting a Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend on April 24, 25 and 26, 2009 at the Best Western Glengarry, 150 Willow St. in Truro, Nov Scotia.

Registration is $60 per person and includes a banquet, continental breakfast on Saturday morning, as well as coffee/tea breaks during the weekend. (Registration without the banquet is $40.00 per person.)

Guest speakers during the weekend study will be Peter M. of Union City, New Jersey and Rich B. of Ocean City, Maryland.

Minutes from Central Service Meeting

The Central Service Committee (CSC) held its first monthly meeting of the New Year on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Among the topics discussed was the New Year’s Eve dance, the upcoming Mid-Winter Roundup, and the Hospital Committee – outgoing Treasurer Foster L. was unanimously voted-in as the new Hospital Committee Chair.
