Bedford-Sackville AA Day

Come out and support our fellowships during Bedford-Sackville AA Day. And while you’re at it, bring a friend in need of help and direction.

Bedford-Sackville AA Day will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Sackville Heights Community Centre, 45 Connolly Road, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

The event will feature AA and AL-Anon meetings during the day followed by a dinner speaker and a dance.

Cost for registration, dinner and dance is only $5.00 plus a pot luck donation. For advanced registration, please contact Tom D. at (902) 252-5007 or Peter G. at (902) 454-5336. Registration is also available at the door.

Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend in Truro

The New Freedom Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is hosting a Big Book/12 Step Study Weekend from October 30 to November 1, 2009 at the Best Western Glengarry, 150 Willow St., Truro, Nova Scotia.

Workshop Guest Speakers for the weekend include Cass V. from Manchester, New Hampshire and Rich B. from Ocean City, Maryland.

34th Mid-Summer Roundup

July 2nd, 2009

The 34th Mid-Summer Roundup for District 6 will take place on July 24, 25 and 26 at the Glengarry Best Western in Truro.

This year’s theme will be “A Common Solution.”

Registration is $20 for AA and Al-Anon members, and $10 for Alateen members. Registration begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 24 and continues from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday July 25.

A banquet will take place on Saturday night. Tickets for the banquet are $25 and will not sold without registration.

Chris R. from Ingram, Texas will be the banquet speaker. A dance will follow the banquet.

21st Courage Round Up

July 2nd, 2009

The 21st Courage Round Up will take place August 7, , and 9 at the Universalist Unitarian Church at 5500 inglis Street in Halifax.

The theme of this year’s round up is “AA – A Safe Port in a Storm.”

The Courage Round Up is the only gay and lesbian AA round up in Atlantic Canada, and the only one of its kind east of Montreal.

The cost is $25 and includes lunch on Saturday. Supper on Saturday night is extra (approx. $12).

45th Annual Assembly in Sydney

June 8th, 2009

The 45th Annual Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador AA Assembly will take place from Sept. 18-20 at the Days Inn in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The Assembly will be hosted by District 9.
